Meanwhile the Orcs, although divided by many internal feuds, decide to follow a powerful new warlord Orgrim Doomhammer in pursuit of the Humans. The Humans then try to rally the different races populating the region such as the High Elves and the Dwarves in order to form a coalition capable of repelling the horde. Survivors led by Anduin Lothar fled by sea to the Kingdom of Lordaeron. Like its prequel, Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness takes place in the medieval-fantasy world of Warcraft in which, following the events of the first game, the human kingdom of Azeroth has been invaded by the Orcs.
